Job Title: Medical Writer / Senior Medical Writer
Location: Bangalore / Remote
Educational Qualifications:

  • M Pharm, PhD, MBBS, BDS, or any other life sciences degree

Experience Required: 3 to 7 years in Medical Communication/Medical Writing


Key Purpose (Position Summary):

The Medical Writer / Senior Medical Writer is responsible for developing content for various deliverables based on client requirements. This role will involve collaborating with content leads to create high-quality medical documents and communication materials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Development:
    • Create medical education and communication programs, including but not limited to:
      • Training manuals/slides
      • Review articles
      • Product monographs
      • CME slide decks
      • Newsletters
      • Case reports
      • Brand promotional deliverables
      • Patient education deliverables
      • International speaker summaries
  • Medical Document Review:
    • Review medical reports and complex scientific information.
    • Review and interpret medical terminology in various documents.
  • Multimedia Content Creation:
    • Responsible for content search, editing, and storyboard creation for multimedia deliverables such as:
      • Interactive CDs
      • Patient education films
      • E-detailing films
      • Websites and animations
  • Template & Style Maintenance:
    • Develop and maintain necessary templates, formats, and styles for documents to meet industry, regulatory, internal, and client requirements.
  • Proofreading & Quality Control:
    • Perform primary proofing of documents/files to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Project Management:
    • Ensure timely delivery of projects/tasks as per agreed timelines.
    • Adhere to processes, scientific code of conduct, and writing ethics (e.g., no plagiarism).

Functional Competencies:

  • Medical Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of medical fields and allied medical fields.
    • In-depth understanding of various therapeutic areas.
  • Guidelines & Standards:
    • Knowledge of relevant guidelines related to the structure and content of specific documents.
    • Familiarity with the Vancouver style of referencing.
  • Literature Search:
    • Experience with searching medical literature databases such as PubMed, ResearchGate, etc.
  • Writing Skills:
    • Clear, concise, and scientific writing style with high attention to detail.
  • Computer Literacy:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
