About the Role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based expert who establishes Takeda’s presence among external stakeholders through scientific exchange and research support. You will serve as a therapeutic area (TA) specialist, executing medical strategies to meet business goals while keeping patient needs at the forefront.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement & Strategic Execution

  • Execute the TA Medical Plan by fostering relationships with key stakeholders, including KOLs, physicians, and hospital committees.
  • Develop and execute a scientific engagement plan aligned with the Medical Plan.
  • Provide therapeutic area insights to guide internal medical and brand strategies.
  • Act as a medical resource for commercial partners while adhering to regulatory guidelines.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Medical Expertise

  • Organize and participate in advisory boards, medical education sessions, and scientific meetings.
  • Support investigator-initiated studies (IISR) and ensure scientific rigor in publications.
  • Deliver medical and clinical presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information and support contracted speaker training.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Train commercial teams on disease and product knowledge using approved materials.
  • Provide scientific expertise to enhance Takeda’s medical, regulatory, and commercial activities.
  • Act as the liaison between Takeda and healthcare professionals for collaborative research and education.

Research Support & Real-World Evidence (RWE)

  • Support clinical research initiatives, including company-sponsored and investigator-led studies.
  • Contribute to national disease registries and RWE projects to improve patient outcomes.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all communications comply with regulatory and Takeda policies.
  • Maintain high disease and product knowledge by attending industry events and engaging in continuous learning.
  • Adhere to Takeda’s values of integrity, fairness, honesty, and perseverance (“Takeda-ism”).

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related disciplines.
  • Preferred: Postgraduate degrees (MD, Ph.D., or equivalent).

Experience

  • Preferred:
    • Minimum 1 year of MSL experience.
    • Experience in product launches and clinical research.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English proficiency required).
  • Effective planning, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain ethical and professional standards.
