Position: Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology, Prostate Radioligand Therapies

Location: Remote (Covering Dallas-Fort Worth & North Texas)

Job Summary:

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based, customer-facing, non-promotional role responsible for advancing clinical practice within the prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumor therapeutic areas treated by Novartis’ Radioligand Therapies (RLTs). The MSL will engage with Healthcare Providers (HCPs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and other medical experts to provide scientific insights, support clinical trials, and shape medical strategy while ensuring compliance with Novartis’ Code of Conduct, Ethics, and Compliance policies.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Scientific Engagement & Territory Management:

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with HCPs, medical experts, pharmacists, nurses, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct scientific discussions on emerging data, clinical trial activities, patient journey barriers, and market dynamics.
  • Identify key stakeholders influencing patient care and engage in meaningful scientific exchanges.
  • Develop strategies for education, engagement, and partnership with academic institutions and centers of excellence.

2. Clinical Trial Support & Insights Gathering:

  • Facilitate relevant medical activities for company-sponsored clinical trials.
  • Collect and analyze medical insights to inform medical strategy and product lifecycle planning.
  • Support and collaborate with internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations) to enhance trial execution.

3. Compliance & Internal Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HEOR, marketing, commercial, and access teams, while ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
  • Stay updated with internal policies, state/local laws, and industry regulations to ensure ethical medical engagement.

4. Administrative Responsibilities & Professional Development:

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, CRM data, and reports.
  • Complete required training and compliance modules within defined timelines.
  • Stay current with therapeutic area advancements and Novartis compounds through ongoing learning and development.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

For Manager Level:

  • Education: Graduate degree in science or healthcare (MD, PhD, or PharmD preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 0-3 years of MSL or Field Medical experience in the pharmaceutical industry OR
    • 3-5 years of relevant medical affairs, clinical research, or scientific experience in a clinical setting.
  • Skills: Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacotherapy, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, and FDA regulations.

For Associate Director Level:

  • Education: Graduate degree in science or healthcare (MD, PhD, or PharmD preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years as an MSL or Field Medical role in the pharmaceutical industry OR
    • 5-7 years in medical affairs, clinical research, or related field in a scientific or clinical setting.
  • Skills: Expertise in clinical engagement, strategic medical planning, and regulatory compliance.

For Director Level:

  • Education: Graduate degree in science or healthcare (MD, PhD, or PharmD preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7 years in an MSL or Field Medical-based position OR
    • 8+ years in medical affairs, clinical research, or scientific leadership roles.
  • Skills: Proven track record in strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership within a matrix organization.

Travel & Location Requirements:

  • 60-70% travel within the assigned territory (DFW & North Texas).
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the territory border.
  • Valid driver’s license required (Field-based role with company car provided).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range:
    • Manager: $166,400 - $249,600
    • Associate Director: $183,200 - $274,800
    • Director: $233,600 - $350,400
