Job Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent Sun Pharmaceuticals and engage with a targeted group of national and regional thought leaders and healthcare professionals (HCPs), including nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) in dermatology, to provide compliant and scientifically accurate information in support of dermatology products. The MSL will also collaborate with payers, managed care accounts, and internal Sun stakeholders (sales, managed markets teams) to advance scientific communication and ensure the success of Sun’s dermatology portfolio.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with Healthcare Providers: Build and maintain relationships with dermatology HCPs, thought leaders, and fellows to advance the scientific platform of Sun’s dermatology products.
  • Scientific Communication: Provide complex scientific information, clinical insights, and data to HCPs, ensuring balanced and compliant responses.
  • Payer Engagement: Communicate clinical and economic value to payers and formulary decision makers.
  • Investigator Sponsored Research (ISS): Respond to requests for ISS proposals, manage research presentations, and serve as the main contact if the research is funded by Sun.
  • Research Support: Support Sun-sponsored research and provide feedback to Sun stakeholders based on field interactions.
  • Speaker’s Bureau: Identify, train, and update members of Sun's speakers' bureau on new data.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Interface with clinical, commercial, and other teams within Sun Pharmaceuticals to provide support and achieve results.
  • Professionalism: Maintain tact, professionalism, and adherence to compliance standards in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Doctorate or terminal degree required (e.g., PharmD, MD, DO, DNP, or PhD).
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of clinical, research, and/or field medical experience, particularly in dermatology.
    • Strong background in pharmaceutical industry, FDA requirements, and PhRMA code.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, team, and communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively present complex scientific data.
    • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Travel: Up to 60-70% travel required.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary: $175,500 to $200,000 (varies by location and experience).
