Role Overview

The Clinical Research Medical Science Liaison (CR-MSL) plays a critical role in supporting Phase 1-3 clinical trial activities in Neurology and Immunology. This is a field-based role (up to 80% field time) that involves engaging with Thought Leaders (TLs), Investigators, and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) to provide scientific insights, accelerate patient enrollment, and contribute to the strategic execution of clinical trials.

As a trusted scientific partner, the CR-MSL will work closely with cross-functional teams, including CR-SMA, RCO, CRC/CRA, to drive clinical research initiatives and advance patient care.


Key Responsibilities

1. External Engagement & Scientific Exchange

  • Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with key Thought Leaders (TLs) and Investigators in Neurology and Immunology.

  • Discuss clinical trial protocols, mechanisms of action (MOA), and therapeutic pipelines with interested HCPs.

  • Gather scientific insights to inform local and global medical strategies.

  • Represent BMS at scientific conferences, congresses, and advisory board meetings to engage with external experts.

2. Clinical Trial Support & Site Engagement

  • Provide scientific expertise and support to investigators and research sites involved in BMS-sponsored trials.

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor patient recruitment, site performance, and operational challenges.

  • Offer insights into trial feasibility and site selection based on field interactions and real-world data.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) to optimize study execution.

  • Assist in the Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISR) submission process and track progress.

3. Medical Support & Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, and Clinical Development teams to ensure alignment with medical and scientific strategies.

  • Provide scientific training and updates to internal teams (e.g., CRAs, regulatory teams).

  • Support the development of educational initiatives and research collaborations.

  • Ensure compliance with BMS policies, ethical standards, and external regulations.


Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • MBBS, MD, BDS, MDS (or equivalent medical qualification).

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, or a related scientific role.

  • Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in Neurology or Immunology (preferred but not mandatory).

Key Competencies:

  • Scientific Communication: Ability to present and discuss clinical and scientific data effectively.

  • Investigator Relations: Strong skills in developing peer-to-peer relationships with TLs and HCPs.

  • Field Engagement: Ability to travel up to 80% of workdays for site visits and scientific engagements.

  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to trial recruitment challenges and site management.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with medical, regulatory, and clinical research teams.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
