Position Purpose

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will serve as a scientific expert in the field of Cardiovascular/Heart Health, acting as a strategic link between Bayer and the medical community. The role involves disseminating scientific information, fostering relationships with thought leaders (TLs), and supporting medical education, research, and advisory initiatives to strengthen Bayer’s scientific leadership in the therapeutic area.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Disseminate and clarify scientific and clinical data through 1:1 and group engagements with TLs

  • Develop TL engagement strategies aligned with brand and medical plans

  • Support medical queries from HCPs, patient groups, and internal teams

  • Represent Bayer at medical congresses and scientific conventions to build relationships and gather insights

  • Organize educational activities such as advisory boards, CMEs, and training sessions

  • Track activities, field interactions, and prepare reports aligned with performance goals

  • Facilitate Investigator-Initiated Research (IIRs) and collaborations with academic investigators

  • Act as point of contact for medical societies for product or scientific information


Secondary Responsibilities

  • Support market access and formulary discussions in collaboration with Market Access teams

  • Assist internal training efforts and scientific query resolution

  • Provide input into clinical trial feasibility and study setup support

  • Participate in external scientific education and training efforts


Work Relationships

  • Interact with: TLs, HCPs, medical societies, payers, regulatory and compliance teams, medical advisors, clinical operations, market access, sales & marketing


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, medicine, or life sciences required

  • MD or advanced scientific degree preferred

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of MSL or clinical research/pharma experience preferred

  • Knowledge of therapeutic area (Heart/Cardiovascular Health)

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with clinical trial design, scientific publications, and medical writing

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
