Medical Scientific Liaison – Cardio-Renal-Metabolism

Position Overview

This role focuses on advancing scientific communication within the therapeutic areas of heart failure, chronic renal disease, and diabetes (Cardio-Renal-Metabolism) for Boehringer Ingelheim’s products and new indications.

As a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL), you will:

  • Provide up-to-date, evidence-based scientific information to Scientific Experts (SEs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).

  • Implement medical programs.

  • Address the scientific and medical needs of SEs/HCPs in the assigned therapeutic areas.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Communication

  • Deliver the latest, credible, and non-promotional scientific information about Boehringer Ingelheim’s products and therapeutic areas to SEs and HCPs.

  • Respond to external medical inquiries with clarity and professionalism.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and execute a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) management plan.

  • Establish and maintain a scientific network with KOLs.

Medical and Educational Support

  • Facilitate scientific presentations and lead medical education programs.

  • Support marketing and medical activities by providing scientific expertise.

  • Train marketing and sales teams on product and therapeutic area updates regularly.

Clinical Trial Coordination

  • Manage local clinical trials, including Phase IV studies, IIS (Investigator-Initiated Studies), NIS (Non-Interventional Studies), PMS (Post-Marketing Surveillance), registry studies, and CUP (Compassionate Use Programs).

Strategic Initiatives

  • Execute plans for data dissemination and publication in collaboration with key scientific experts.

  • Organize and implement medical activities such as advisory board meetings, CME (Continuing Medical Education) programs, and SEM (Scientific Expert Meetings).

  • Identify opportunities to enhance methodologies and implement practical solutions with the Medical Affairs team.


Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Health Sciences, PharmD, PhD, or MD.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Skills:

    • Proficient knowledge of clinical study methodology, study design, data review, and publication processes.

    • Strong project management abilities, capable of handling complex tasks within deadlines and milestones.

    • Effective communication skills in English and Chinese for technical and non-technical topics.

    • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to summarize and deliver medical information effectively.
