Medical Science Liaison - Cardiometabolic Health at Lilly

Purpose:

Scientific and Clinical Experts (SEs/CEs) are individuals recognized for their expertise in a therapeutic area, and they require in-depth, cutting-edge scientific information. MSLs provide essential support to these experts by facilitating scientific exchange, offering unbiased medical and clinical knowledge, and shaping the future of healthcare. Through their role, MSLs contribute to Lilly’s research, development, and commercialization strategies by fostering strong partnerships with SEs/CEs and driving medical innovation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Scientific & Clinical Knowledge: MSLs will maintain and share the latest research, clinical data, and product information to support SEs/CEs. Their expertise is crucial for addressing clinical gaps and answering complex scientific questions.

  • Full Spectrum SE/CE Support: MSLs engage with SEs/CEs to provide strategic support, foster collaborations, and share scientific data that enhances patient care and accelerates research initiatives.

  • Field Execution, Geo Management, and Productivity: MSLs will prioritize customer engagement and manage their territory effectively, ensuring optimal interactions with SEs/CEs through both in-person and virtual meetings. Strategic planning and execution are key to meeting performance targets.

  • Strategic Vision and Leadership: MSLs will synthesize insights from interactions with SEs/CEs and communicate actionable feedback to internal teams, contributing to strategic decision-making. They will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and compliance.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2-3 years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) with 5+ years of clinical, research, or industry experience.
  • Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Additional Preferences:

  • Cardiometabolic health experience (e.g., diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular) preferred.
  • Proficiency in utilizing field-based tools and adapting to technological advances.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage complex challenges with resilience.
  • Experience in customer engagement and servicing complex medical information.

Location & Travel Requirements:

  • The role requires up to 80% travel, including occasional weekend commitments.
  • Candidates should live near a transport hub (airport/train station).
