Medical Reviewer – Life Sciences & Medical Communications

About the Role

A leading global medical communications organization is seeking a detail-oriented and scientifically rigorous Medical Reviewer to support high-quality medical and scientific content across the product lifecycle. This role is ideal for professionals who combine deep medical knowledge with exceptional analytical and quality control skills.

As a Medical Reviewer, you will ensure the scientific accuracy, regulatory compliance, and publication readiness of medical manuscripts, slide decks, posters, educational materials, and related deliverables. This position offers the opportunity to work in a remote-first, globally collaborative environment while contributing to impactful medical communication initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct scientific review and quality control (QC) of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide presentations, educational content, and medical literature.

  • Validate scientific data against annotated references, Clinical Study Reports (CSRs), and other primary source documents.

  • Identify discrepancies within text, between tables/figures, and across supplementary materials.

  • Detect missing references, logical gaps, and inconsistencies in scientific arguments.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, journal requirements, and internal style guides.

  • Perform detailed grammar, syntax, and formatting reviews to maintain publication standards.

  • Prepare comprehensive QC and fact-check reports for stakeholders.

  • Communicate findings clearly with medical writers, authors, clients, and cross-functional teams.

  • Identify recurring quality trends and recommend process improvements.

  • Ensure timely delivery of all assigned review projects.

  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs.


Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Medical Research, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or a related field; equivalent industry experience will be considered.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical writing, publication support, medical communications, or clinical research.

  • Strong understanding of scientific publications, regulatory standards, and clinical documentation.

  • Excellent attention to detail with zero tolerance for scientific inaccuracies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently.

  • Adaptability to evolving project requirements and client expectations.


Remote Work Expectations

This is a remote-first role with occasional travel to the Mumbai office for business requirements or company events. Successful candidates should demonstrate:

  • High ownership and accountability.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across global time zones.

  • Clear communication using virtual collaboration tools such as MS Teams.

  • Balanced use of synchronous and asynchronous communication methods.


Selection Process
