Role Overview
The Creative Graphics Designer Manager within Pfizer’s Global Medical Communications and Content Solutions (MCCS) team is responsible for transforming complex scientific data into clear, engaging, and visually compelling medical content. This role combines creative design expertise with strategic medical communications to support therapeutic area content across abstracts, manuscripts, congress materials, infographics, videos, digital media, and other external-facing scientific materials.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Medical Communication Development

  • Design visually engaging, scientifically accurate graphics for abstracts, manuscripts, congress posters, graphical abstracts, slide decks, infographics, videos, digital content, and other multimedia assets.

  • Collaborate with medical writers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure designs clearly communicate complex scientific data.

  • Align visual content strategies with therapeutic area objectives, brand guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and proper resource allocation.

  • Develop and monitor project plans, including timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications.

  • Perform quality checks on all visual assets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, brand guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify and mitigate design risks, contributing to process improvements.

  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and workshops to enhance content quality.

Innovation and Best Practices

  • Stay updated on design trends, software, and emerging technologies, including AI-based tools, to improve efficiency and visual impact.

  • Introduce innovative design approaches to enhance the effectiveness of medical communications.

  • Promote adoption of new technologies and tools to streamline content creation workflows.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Digital Media, Communication Design, or related field.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in graphic design, with a focus on medical communications or healthcare content.

  • Proven expertise in digital and print design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.

  • Experience working in global, cross-cultural settings or with offshore agencies is preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Figma, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and other multimedia/graphic design tools.

  • Strong understanding of typography, layout design, color theory, and visual storytelling.

  • Knowledge of scientific and medical terminology with the ability to communicate complex data visually.

  • Project management skills, including handling multiple projects with tight deadlines.

  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS, web-based content, and emerging design technologies.
