Position Overview

The Medical Receptionist Float will serve multiple locations within the Pediatric Associates Family of Companies, ensuring a smooth front-office experience for patients. This role will involve greeting and assisting patients, updating necessary information, processing payments, and handling follow-up appointments. The position will require flexibility to float between various offices, including MD Family Buckner, Ross, Plano, Spring Valley, and others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check-in Patients: Update patient demographics, insurance, and collect co-pays. Provide necessary consents and health questionnaires.
  • Check-out Patients: Collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, specialist referrals, and ensure follow-up appointments are made.
  • Insurance Verification: Ensure patient insurance is active and appropriate; reach out to patients for updates when necessary.
  • Post Charges/Payments: Process patient charges, payments, and ensure proper reconciliation.
  • Documentation: Scan and upload documents into the Document Management system.
  • General Office Tasks: Maintain cleanliness in work and waiting areas, sort and deliver mail, and participate in educational meetings.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to interact effectively with patients and staff, providing excellent customer service.
    • Experience with office equipment (computer, scanner, printer, fax).
    • Ability to handle patient confidentiality and follow company procedures.

Working Conditions

  • Patient-facing, with occasional remote/telework options.
  • 15%-20% travel required to different office locations.
  • Indoor work with occasional standing, sitting, and lifting up to 10 lbs.

Physical Requirements

  • Good vision, sense of sound, touch, and smell.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
