Position Overview

IQVIA is hiring a Medical Laboratory Assistant to support its advanced laboratory operations in Valencia, California. This role is essential to maintaining laboratory efficiency, specimen integrity, and high-quality workflows within a regulated clinical environment.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Day Shift)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and technical support to laboratory teams.

  • Wash, rinse, dry, distribute, and store laboratory glassware such as test tubes, beakers, flasks, and cylinders.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including disinfecting equipment and workbenches.

  • Prepare, sterilize, and restock laboratory equipment and supplies.

  • Label and prepare tubes for analytical processes.

  • Support post-analysis sample storage and specimen banking.

  • Assist with inventory tracking and general workstation maintenance.

  • Support routine equipment maintenance and ensure laboratory areas meet safety and operational standards.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Some locations under CAP/CLIA may require an Associate Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.

  • 0–6 months of work experience in a laboratory or similar environment preferred.

  • Basic understanding of laboratory practices such as sterilization, decontamination, and hazardous waste handling.

  • Equivalent education or experience may be considered.


Experience & Skills Needed

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent standing and walking.

  • Comfort working in varying temperature environments, including cold storage areas.

  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures, infection control, and chemical handling.

  • Understanding of laboratory terminology, instruments, and workflow processes.

  • Basic computer proficiency and strong teamwork capabilities.

  • Close vision capability for computer work, labeling, and reading small prints.


Compensation

Annual base pay range: USD $24,400 – $50,900
Actual compensation depends on experience, education, geographic location, and employment schedule. Incentives, bonuses, and comprehensive health and welfare benefits may also be offered.
