Job Summary:
The Medical Information Specialist (MIS) is responsible for delivering medical information services, responding to consumer and healthcare professional inquiries, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. The position involves providing accurate, clear, and concise medical responses, documenting adverse events, and handling product complaints while adhering to ProPharma’s internal policies and client requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Medical Information Service Delivery:

    • Respond to unsolicited inquiries from consumers, healthcare professionals, and other external customers for medical and safety information.

    • Provide labeled and unlabeled responses according to regulatory standards, industry guidelines, and internal ProPharma policies.

    • Document and report adverse events, pregnancy reports, special situations, and product complaints as required by government regulations and ProPharma Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Inquiry Handling:

    • Accurately log all inquiries in the Inquiry Handling Systems.

    • Maintain compliance with deadlines and quality assurance processes.

    • Assist with writing custom medical responses based on approved labeling, published literature, and other relevant data.

  • Quality Assurance:

    • Perform quality checks on adverse events, product quality complaints, and other inquiries logged into the system.

    • Ensure responses and documentation meet internal and regulatory quality standards.

  • General Responsibilities:

    • Provide after-hours coverage on a rotated basis, as needed.

    • Comply with confidentiality policies and data privacy regulations.

    • Follow company health and safety policies and other assigned tasks as delegated by the Manager.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Healthcare Professional (Nursing degree [RN/BS/BA/MS] or Pharmacy degree).

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, proofreading, and customer service skills.

  • Fluency in English and ability to write in grammatically correct language.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmacology, and regulatory standards.

  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail within time constraints.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

  • Proactive with problem-solving skills and the ability to suggest effective solutions.

  • Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to learn new systems, including inquiry handling databases.
