Job Description / Responsibilities:

  • Front Office Duties: Answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying eligibility, assisting with medication refills, addressing incoming and outgoing faxes. No clinical work or hands-on patient care involved.

  • Follow provider orders, anticipating patient flow needs.

  • Assist providers with patient visits and minor procedures (e.g., Pap Smears, minor surgical procedures).

  • Knowledge of back office functions: intake, patient preparation, vital signs, venipuncture, immunizations/medication administration, blood draws, and injections.

  • Assist in cross-training of new personnel.

  • Must be able to work autonomously and make decisions in the absence of a Supervisor/Administrator.

  • Provide feedback to management on staff performance.

  • Handle patient communication: receiving and documenting phone calls, scheduling, and follow-up.

  • Complete patient visit documentation including charts and logs.

  • Handle prescription refills and appointment reminder calls.

  • Participate in community outreach events to promote enrollment growth.

  • Help ensure patient satisfaction at the clinic.

  • Flexible to cover staffing shortages and rotational Saturday clinic hours if needed.

  • Abide by company policies and State Regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Required Experience: 0-2 years of Medical Assistant experience.

  • Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).

  • Proficient in front and back office duties, medical terminology, and EMR/PM systems.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment supporting multiple providers.

  • Bilingual preferred.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and PHI regulations.
