This position is for a Medical Assistant in a dermatology setting, with a focus on both adult and pediatric dermatology. The role includes both clinical and administrative responsibilities, supporting healthcare providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Greet patients, take vital signs, assist with examinations and treatments, and prioritize emergency cases.
  • Clinical Tasks: Assist with procedures, perform simple diagnostic tests, collect specimens, and clean/sterilize equipment.
  • Patient Interaction: Handle patient appointments, provide instructions for procedures, assist with insurance and billing forms, and manage patient records.
  • Clinical Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain clinical tools and ensure proper sterilization techniques.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with nursing staff and providers, communicate patient concerns, and provide patient education.
  • Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, manage medical records, and process billing.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Experience: Experience in an office or outpatient setting is preferred, especially in dermatology.
  • Certifications: Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) is required, along with a current BLS certification.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proficiency in computer systems.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
