About the Role

The Medical Affairs Specialist will serve as a scientific peer to the medical and scientific community, establishing and maintaining relationships with disease area experts, KOLs, and organizations in Ministries of Health, Research Institutions, and NGOs. This position will ensure the effective use of ARDx products, support the sales team, and gather insights for research while ensuring compliance with medical guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Disease Area Understanding: Maintain a deep understanding of the disease areas and ARDx technologies to provide accurate scientific information.
  • Gather Feedback & Insights: Collect feedback from KOLs and use it to inform ARDx research and strategic planning for the Africa Business Unit.
  • Scientific Engagement: Engage with clinical investigators, facilitate clinical evaluations, and support medical education activities (e.g., Focus Groups, Advisory Boards, Webinars).
  • Evidence Generation: Facilitate protocol design for evidence generation studies and follow-up to support in-country adoption.
  • Develop KOL Relationships: Build and maintain long-term peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and stakeholders to gather insights and share medical data.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Market Access, and Sales to generate leads, support evidence planning, and implement evidence generation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be a qualified Medical Doctor, or have a PhD in health sciences or a Registered DPharm qualification.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years in a research institute or in a pharmaceutical/diagnostics company.
    • Strong experience in customer-facing and relationship-building roles.
    • Familiarity with market knowledge in a healthcare environment.
    • Strong ability to interpret and communicate clinical data effectively.
  • Skills:
    • Bilingual in French and English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams.
    • Innovative approach to problem-solving and evidence generation.
    • Willingness to travel 30% of the time.
