Job Description

Position Title:

Medical Affairs Specialist – Diabetes & Cardiovascular (Global/EM Markets)


Key Responsibilities

1. Medical Strategy & Planning

  • Execute the Medical Affairs plan for new DRL product launches across Emerging Markets (EM).

  • Provide strategic medical inputs to cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Strategy, Regulatory, Portfolio, and Clinical Development.

  • Support the development of Target Patient Profiles, CLM (Closed Loop Marketing) content, and product differentiation strategies.

2. Scientific Engagement & Communication

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

  • Support country-level Medical Science Liaison (MSL) and Commercial teams in addressing HCP (Healthcare Professional) queries.

  • Organize and lead COE (Center of Excellence)-driven scientific initiatives such as Advisory Boards, Global Webinars, and Investigator Support Programs (ISPs).

  • Disseminate key scientific updates in internal and external forums on products and relevant therapeutic areas.

3. Evidence Generation & Publications

  • Support DRL-sponsored and Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), Real-World Evidence (RWE) generation, and Post-Marketing Surveillance activities.

  • Contribute to the development of scientific publications, conference abstracts, and subsequent HCP communication materials.

4. Internal Collaboration & Compliance

  • Review and approve promotional materials, events, FMV (Fair Market Value) calculations, and KOL tiering to ensure compliance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular training sessions for internal teams (MSLs, Commercial, etc.) on disease areas, product knowledge, clinical guidelines, and product differentiation.

  • Provide scientific and clinical support to Sales, Marketing, Portfolio, and Strategy teams as needed.

5. Market Insights & Future Strategy Development

  • Gather and analyze market trends and customer insights to strengthen medical and commercial strategies.

  • Evaluate potential new products and provide medical rationale for portfolio expansion within related therapeutic areas.

  • Support digital content creation, review, and approval for DRL platforms, leveraging technology for enhanced scientific exchange and stakeholder engagement.


Qualifications

Education

  • MBBS with MD in Pharmacology from a recognized medical institution in India.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Prior experience managing products in Diabetes and Cardiovascular therapy areas, with preference for injectable or novel entity launches.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of clinical research, medical statistics, and regulatory standards.

  • Excellent English communication, presentation, and project/stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a global environment with a scientific and strategic mindset.
