About the Role

Bayer Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Medical Advisor – Cardiology to provide medical and scientific support across assigned therapeutic areas. The role encompasses oversight of Medical Affairs activities in India, collaboration with Regional and Global Medical Affairs teams, and support to Business Units (BUs), Pharmacovigilance (PV), Medical Information (MI), and Clinical Research functions.

The Medical Advisor ensures timely, accurate, and compliant dissemination of scientific data, supports marketing and sales teams with medical expertise, reviews promotional materials, and strengthens relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs), medical societies, and other external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Marketing and Scientific Support:

  • Provide expert review and approval of all promotional materials, ensuring compliance with internal SOPs, local regulations, and global guidelines.

  • Transform clinical and scientific data into actionable insights for marketing strategies.

  • Support Business Units in integrating medical input into brand planning and promotional activities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Thought Leaders, internal colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Clinical and Research Collaboration:

  • Lead or support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies (NIS/IIR).

  • Provide local medical expertise for global clinical development programs, including site feasibility and medical queries.

  • Ensure study objectives are met and deliver high-quality data for research programs.

Training and Education:

  • Conduct internal medical training for marketing and sales teams.

  • Deliver external scientific presentations at advisory boards, symposia, and congresses.

  • Educate stakeholders on clinical evidence, safety data, and therapeutic advancements in cardiology.

Pharmacovigilance and Safety Oversight:

  • Support local safety issue management and crisis response in collaboration with the Safety Management Team.

  • Review patient support programs and ensure adherence to pharmacovigilance principles.

  • Maintain compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and ensure inspection readiness.

Strategic Engagement and Thought Leadership:

  • Identify and engage with key TLs, societies, and associations.

  • Act as a medical contact for TLs and external medical experts.

  • Participate in congresses and professional networks to gather competitive intelligence.


Who You Are

  • Qualification: Certified Medical Doctor (MBBS) with MD in relevant specialty.

  • Experience: 2–3 years as a Medical Advisor in Cardiology or related therapeutic area.

  • Expertise: Strong disease-area knowledge and clinical understanding of cardiology therapies.

Desirable Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in medical strategy development for therapeutic areas.

  • Clinical trial management and authoritative engagement with investigators and stakeholders.

  • Excellent presentation, teaching, and professional communication skills.

  • Independent, self-driven, collaborative, and customer-focused approach.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
