Job Title: Regional Medical Advisor (RMA)


Primary Objective:

The Regional Medical Advisor (RMA) provides scientific and medical support to the EPD (Established Pharmaceutical Division) Medical Organization. The role involves engaging with physicians, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and academic centers to support medical and scientific activities, such as clinical studies and medical projects, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. This position focuses on therapeutic areas assigned to the RMA, advancing scientific credibility, fostering relationships, and delivering high-level scientific dialogue to drive therapy shaping.


Job Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory and Ethical Compliance:

    • Ensure all activities comply with local, global, and national laws, regulations, guidelines, and codes of conduct.
    • Adhere to company policies and accepted best practice standards in all interactions.
  2. Scientific and Medical Support:

    • Provide scientific and technical support for physicians, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and academic centers to ensure accurate and up-to-date medical and scientific information is available.
    • Assist in the development of key scientific knowledge to support informed scientific dialogue and relationship-building with healthcare professionals.
  3. Therapy Shaping Activities:

    • Collaborate with the Medical Affairs and Commercial teams to design and deliver innovative, high-science activities for physicians and KOLs.
    • Promote and drive therapy shaping in the assigned therapeutic area through educational sessions, meetings, and other engagements.
  4. Clinical Study and Project Management:

    • Initiate, oversee, and follow up on clinical studies and medical projects within the therapeutic area (e.g., post-marketing activities, Phase IV studies, registry/database projects).
    • Ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable guidelines, SOPs, and regulations.
  5. Scientific Presentations:

    • Deliver high-quality, unbiased scientific presentations to physicians and KOLs when requested.
    • Participate in educational activities, congresses, symposia, and round tables, maintaining scientific integrity in all interactions.
  6. Collaboration and Relationship Building:

    • Assist in the identification and selection of qualified physicians for potential research collaborations or educational efforts.
    • Foster and maintain professional relationships with KOLs and other healthcare professionals to support the dissemination of scientific information.
  7. Strategic Input:

    • Provide input on research and development strategies within the therapeutic area.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on scientific objectives and goals.

    • Ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with KOLs, physicians, and other key stakeholders.

  • EPD Medical Personnel:

    • Clinical Research Managers, Clinical Operations Managers, Medical Advisors, Medical Information team/specialists, Pharmacovigilance personnel.
  • Marketing and Sales:

    • Marketing teams across therapeutic areas, and Sales organizations in the region.
  • External Healthcare Professionals:

    • Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, participating research investigators, KOLs, and scientific/medical societies.
  • Internal Teams:

    • Administrative personnel within the Medical Department and Business Unit.
  • Patients:

    • Through Patient Awareness Programs.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Medical/Scientific degree (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD) or equivalent, with expertise in the therapeutic area of focus.
  • Experience:

    • Prior experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or a related scientific field.
    • Experience in engaging with KOLs and healthcare professionals in a non-sales capacity.
  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of medical/scientific content and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally within a global organization.
