Job Description

Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Supervisor for Packaging & Inspection is responsible for overseeing operations in various aseptic manufacturing processes, including compounding, preparation, filtration, filling, and lyophilization. This position focuses on ensuring compliance with cGMP standards, managing production staff, and maintaining efficiency and quality throughout the manufacturing process. The Supervisor will be involved in developing and reviewing manufacturing documentation, training staff, and conducting investigations related to production deviations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision:

    • Supervise manufacturing operations in areas such as compounding, antigen production, and packaging.
    • Manage and review Batch Production Records (BPRs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Ensure staff compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, and safety regulations through observation and training.
    • Supervise and evaluate hourly employee performance, conducting performance reviews and coaching.
  • Documentation & Compliance:

    • Generate and update SOPs and BPRs in line with regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with GMPs, including deviations and corrective actions.
    • Participate in process and equipment validations.
  • Production Management:

    • Monitor production supplies and equipment needed for operations.
    • Assist in preparing production reports, analyzing product costs, and supporting budgetary processes.
    • Coordinate with other departments (Quality Assurance, Maintenance, etc.) to address production issues.
  • Training & Development:

    • Provide cGMP, safety, and job-specific training for manufacturing personnel.
    • Interview, hire, and mentor new employees.
    • Conduct investigations into quality incidents (OOS/OOT) and implement corrective actions.
  • Additional Responsibilities for Supervisor III:

    • Fully trained in at least two distinct manufacturing departments.
    • Lead and manage team objectives and set performance standards.
    • Identify and recommend capital expenditures and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

    • Supervisor I:

      • Bachelor's degree (Science or Arts) and 6 months of related experience, or
      • No degree with 4 years of pharmaceutical or supervisory experience.
      • Prior supervisory or pharmaceutical experience is desirable.
    • Supervisor II:

      • Bachelor's degree (Science or Arts) and 2 years of related experience, or
      • No degree with 4 years of pharmaceutical or supervisory experience.
      • Prior supervisory or pharmaceutical experience is required.
    • Supervisor III:

      • Bachelor's degree (Science or Arts) and 4 years of related experience, or
      • No degree with 5 years of pharmaceutical or supervisory experience.
      • Prior supervisory or pharmaceutical experience is required.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience in managing conflict and influencing outcomes.
    • Strong understanding of cGMP regulations.
    • Ability to supervise and train teams effectively.
    • Experience working in clean room environments.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • 20/30 corrected near-point vision required.

Compensation:

  • Supervisor I:

    • $70,000 – $130,900 per year (depending on experience).
  • Supervisor II:

    • $76,000 – $142,800 per year (depending on experience).
  • Supervisor III:

    • $80,500 – $160,100 per year (depending on experience).

Note: Midpoint and above compensation is reserved for employees with long tenure and consistently outstanding performance in the role.
