About the Role

Bristol Myers Squibb is hiring a Manager I – Capital and GTS Reporting, a strategically crucial role within the Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function. This position supports enterprise-wide capital planning, investment evaluation, reporting, and financial governance. Working closely with the Director, Finance – Capital Planning & Analysis, the role provides analytical insights that influence high-level business decisions and long-term capital strategy.

The position is ideal for seasoned finance professionals with strong analytical acumen, financial modeling capabilities, and experience in capital planning within a dynamic, global organization.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Capital Planning

  • Lead and optimize the company’s capital planning framework, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.

  • Forecast long-term capital requirements based on growth projections, market trends, innovation strategy, and regulatory considerations.

  • Prepare, present, and defend capital plans to senior leaders and executive committees.

  • Support prioritization and selection of capital projects through feasibility assessments, risk evaluations, and return-on-investment analysis.

Capital Analysis and Investment Evaluation

  • Conduct advanced financial modeling to evaluate capital expenditure proposals and strategic investments.

  • Support assessments related to mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and large-scale expansion projects.

  • Develop and maintain multi-year capital forecasting models, incorporating risk-adjusted returns and funding strategies.

  • Recommend optimal capital allocation approaches that balance operational needs and long-term value creation.

Financial Performance Measurement and Reporting

  • Establish performance indicators to track capital investment effectiveness.

  • Deliver accurate, detailed reports on capital utilization, project performance, and financial outcomes.

  • Ensure compliant documentation and internal controls aligned with corporate reporting standards.

Risk Management

  • Identify financial, operational, and strategic risks associated with capital investment.

  • Develop mitigation strategies, including scenario analysis and contingency planning.

  • Monitor market and regulatory changes affecting long-term capital planning.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration

  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to Engineering, Corporate Development, Strategy, Treasury, and Operations.

  • Provide insights during monthly reviews, budget discussions, and capital planning cycles.

  • Mentor and support a high-performing finance team, fostering continuous improvement and analytical excellence.

Process Improvement and Innovation

  • Enhance capital planning tools, templates, and processes with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

  • Champion the adoption of advanced analytics, automation tools, and digital workflows.

  • Drive best practices across financial modeling, capital allocation, reporting, and governance.


Capex Reporting Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to consolidate Capex project inputs for annual budgets.

  • Build Capex budgets, forecasts, and management presentations.

  • Prepare standard and ad-hoc reports, highlighting trends, variances, and insights for senior leadership.

  • Manage monthly variance analysis between actuals, budgets, and projections using standardized frameworks.

  • Execute special projects and analytical assignments as needed.

  • Ensure timely, accurate financial deliverables across FP&A processes.


Relationship Management and Teaming

  • Engage with Engineering and other stakeholders to support monthly reviews and guide Capex decisions.

  • Represent the FP&A function with clarity, accuracy, and execution excellence.

  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and effective communication across teams.


Risk Management

  • Highlight key risks and opportunities to Engineering leadership.

  • Support execution of Capex plans, ensuring alignment with organizational requirements.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5–7 years of professional experience in financial planning and analysis, capital reporting, or corporate finance.

  • Strong understanding of capital planning, resource allocation, forecasting, and financial modeling.

  • Proven experience preparing executive-level financial presentations and reports.

  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with global teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy, attention to detail, and strategic thinking.


Work Model

This role is based at the BMS Hyderabad office and follows a site-by-design model, requiring approximately 50% onsite presence.
