Key Accountabilities:

1. Business/Operational Leadership:

  • Business Growth: Drive business and project growth, focusing on increasing revenues and profits.
  • Process Improvements: Help implement a lean management approach and process improvements aligned with corporate, quality, client feedback, and quality audits.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Project and Team Contribution: Actively contribute to projects, committees, and task force groups as needed.
  • Productivity and Quality Metrics: Ensure direct reports meet departmental and project productivity and quality metrics.
  • TIME Reports: Review TIME entries and TIME reports, providing accurate input into monthly reports.
  • Team Consultation: Provide team consultation, facilitate metrics collection, and develop action plans.
  • Business Promotion: Promote new business by participating in internal meetings, project/program bids, and client presentations.

2. Team Leadership:

  • Recruitment and Development: Recruit, retain, and develop a skilled, experienced, and motivated team.
  • Performance Management: Ensure direct reports meet and exceed personal goals and objectives by developing appropriate orientation/induction, performance review, and development plans.
  • Staff Assignment: Support and improve productivity and billability through effective task allocation, staff assignment, and defining roles & responsibilities.
  • High-Performance Culture: Enable a high-performance culture by building partnerships, promoting a positive work environment, and fostering teamwork.
  • Performance Reviews: Complete formal performance and salary review processes in line with corporate standards.

3. Trade Compliance:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Evaluate requirements, proposals, project objectives, and countries involved, developing import/export strategies that meet local and international trade regulations.
  • Documentation Review: Ensure ongoing and revised project documentation is accurate, complete, and meets customs regulations of applicable countries.
  • Policy and Process Updates: Create, review, and update customs and regulatory policies, documentation, and processes, ensuring compliance with SOPs.

4. Risk Management:

  • Contract Verification: Verify project contracts to ensure tasks and strategies meet contractual obligations with minimal risk to clients and the company, following escalation processes as required.
  • Trade Compliance Language: Participate in the review of contracts to define trade compliance language.

Knowledge and Experience:

Knowledge:

  • Clinical Trial Supply: In-depth knowledge of clinical trial supply, drug development, ancillary, and clinical laboratory markets.
  • Regulatory Framework: Strong understanding of cGXP and its impact on import and export processes.
