Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer – Chennai, Trivandrum
Job Summary
ICON plc, a global leader in clinical research and healthcare intelligence, is hiring a Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer to join its high-impact data science team in Chennai or Trivandrum. In this role, you will develop and validate complex clinical data solutions supporting regulatory submissions and innovative drug development. This opportunity is ideal for seasoned programmers experienced in SAS, CDISC, and clinical trial data who want to lead transformative projects at a world-class CRO.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and validation of data programming solutions for global clinical trials
Collaborate with statisticians, data managers, and clinical teams to define analysis datasets and outputs
Program and validate datasets, tables, listings, and figures (TLFs) in compliance with study protocols
Perform rigorous quality control and ensure integrity of clinical trial data
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior programming staff
Contribute to best practices and continuous process improvements in clinical data programming
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, or a related field
Strong experience in clinical programming with expertise in SAS and R
Proficiency with CDISC standards (SDTM and ADaM)
Deep understanding of clinical trial data structures and regulatory submission requirements
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally
