Role Overview

The Laboratory Quality Analyst supports quality management, improvement initiatives, quality training, and compliance activities within LabCorp laboratories. This role ensures adherence to regulatory standards and contributes to overall laboratory excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Support & Oversight

  • Provide quality support to Stat labs and main laboratory

  • Serve as laboratory director for up to 5 moderate complexity laboratories in the subregion

  • Act as Technical Consultant for contracted hospitals and healthcare facilities

  • Assist staff in developing and maintaining spreadsheets for quality metric reporting

Documentation & Training

  • Provide training and support for electronic document control systems

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, electronic forms, and training materials related to quality processes

Auditing & Compliance

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal quality assurance audits and inspections

  • Prepare and distribute audit reports

  • Participate in inspections by regulatory and accrediting agencies as required

  • Manage receipt and processing of laboratory proficiency testing kits

  • Support change control processes through to closure

Administrative Duties

  • Attend and contribute to monthly Quality meetings

  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as required


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical/physical/biological science

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of supervisory laboratory experience in clinical laboratory (non-waived testing)

    • Minimum 5 years as a generalist Medical Technologist

  • General knowledge of laboratory regulations (CAP/CLIA)

  • Familiarity with inspection protocols and regulatory requirements preferred

  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools

  • Ability to travel monthly to satellite labs in Kansas and Missouri
