Job Overview

AbbVie, a global biopharmaceutical leader, is hiring a Key Account Specialist for its Allergan Aesthetics division in Ahmedabad. This role is critical in driving strategic account engagement, improving market access, and strengthening long-term partnerships with key healthcare providers and payers. The position requires strong commercial acumen, consultative selling expertise, and the ability to navigate complex healthcare decision-making environments.

The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to align account strategies with brand objectives, support contracting and tendering processes, and optimize product access while ensuring sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Key Account Management

  • Develop a deep understanding of the decision-making dynamics, priorities, and challenges within assigned key accounts.

  • Analyze payer and provider needs, access barriers, and influencer networks to inform brand and account strategies.

  • Communicate actionable insights and future market trends to internal field teams and brand stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Development

  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with key payers, providers, and institutional stakeholders.

  • Anticipate changes in the healthcare environment and proactively address access and funding challenges.

  • Identify and execute mutually beneficial partnership opportunities that support product access and portfolio growth.

Contracting, Tendering & Commercial Execution

  • Lead or support contracting and tendering activities, including negotiation, proposal development, and deal closure.

  • Ensure alignment of commercial agreements with profitability targets and compliance standards.

  • Track account performance, contract execution, and return on investment to continuously optimize outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Performance Tracking

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, medical, and market access to deliver integrated account plans.

  • Translate strategic objectives into clear, measurable engagement plans with defined milestones and outcomes.

  • Monitor execution effectiveness and account performance to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical aesthetics sales, key account management, or consultative selling roles.

  • Demonstrated success in managing complex accounts and influencing multi-stakeholder decision-making environments.

  • Prior experience in contracting and tendering processes is strongly preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of payer and provider behavior, decision-making frameworks, and local healthcare systems.

  • Proven ability to translate strategy into actionable account plans.

  • Excellent negotiation, business planning, and financial acumen, including knowledge of pharmaco-economic principles.

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with experience coordinating cross-functional field teams.

  • High proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written.
