Position Summary:
We are seeking a Junior Copy Editor to proofread and edit pharmaceutical promotional and scientific content, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with style guides and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have strong editorial skills, a good understanding of medical and scientific terminology, and the ability to deliver high-quality content with minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Proofreading Deliverables

  • Apply business-unit checklists for all deliverables.

  • Ensure consistency between the base file and final output.

  • Check style, flow, alignment, layout, grammar, and language.

  • Suggest necessary changes by providing clear comments.

2. Copyediting Deliverables

  • Review and edit content for language, spelling, grammar, formatting, style, and readability.

  • Apply AMA style guide and client-specific style guidelines.

  • Highlight sentence restructuring issues and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure content aligns with the intended story and target audience.

  • Identify and flag any data inconsistencies.

  • Respond to cross-team queries under guidance.

3. Process Adherence and Compliance

  • Follow organizational, divisional, and client policies on quality, information security, and data privacy.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to copyright rules.

  • Comply with ISMS, ISO, CMMI, and other client-specific standards.

4. Self-Development

  • Build expertise in assigned deliverables through formal training and self-learning.

  • Volunteer in internal training programs to enhance skills.

  • Participate in document review exercises and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrate agility to collaborate with multiple functional teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences or related field.

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience editing pharmaceutical promotional or scientific content.

  • Strong written and oral English communication skills.

  • Familiarity with AMA Manual of Style and client-specific style guides.

  • Good understanding of scientific and medical terminology.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail.
