About the Role: Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

Purpose:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) program bridges industry and the scientific community. MSLs are experts in their therapeutic areas, fostering scientific exchange to address key clinical questions, inform Lilly’s strategy, and shape the future of healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deep Scientific Knowledge: Continuously learn to provide accurate, up-to-date, and unbiased medical information, building trust with scientific experts (SEs).
  • Customer Engagement: Foster meaningful dialogues with SEs, delivering disease-state insights and addressing advanced scientific inquiries. Identify collaboration opportunities and connect SEs with Lilly resources.
  • Strategic Leadership: Synthesize data, communicate clinical insights, and contribute to medical strategy and planning.
  • Territory Management: Create and implement strategic plans to optimize efficiency and ensure compliance with regulations.

Candidate Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2-3 years of relevant experience; bachelor’s or master’s degree considered with 5+ years of clinical or research experience.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 80%), including weekend work (4-6 weekends/year).
  • Strong presentation skills, learning agility, and the ability to manage complex scientific data.
  • Effective communication, strategic thinking, and resilience in navigating challenges.
  • Familiarity with academic, research, and medical education systems is highly valued.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in networking, field-based work, and delivering complex information.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and medical research processes.
