Job Title: MES Transformation Specialist

Job Summary:

As part of our global MES team, you will play a key role in transforming the existing MES landscape into a cloud-native architecture using OpenShift/Kubernetes and PostgreSQL. Your contributions will focus on automation, integration, standardization, optimization, and operation of MES solutions based on existing templates.


Key Responsibilities:

MES System Development & Implementation:

  • Support the system lifecycle, including design, planning, implementation, and operation of local and global manufacturing solutions.
  • Lead small to medium MES implementation projects at global production sites in collaboration with IT units and business teams.
  • Work closely with functional architects to manage demand and prioritize projects by organizing, identifying, and recording requirements.

Automation & Optimization:

  • Recommend and implement innovative automation, integration, and standardization strategies to enhance MES solutions.
  • Optimize manufacturing execution processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Technical Expertise & Operations:

  • Utilize IT infrastructure technologies, including Windows/Linux operating systems, Citrix, and database systems like Oracle/PostgreSQL.
  • Work with containerization technologies such as Docker, RedHat OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
  • Ensure seamless integration and operation of MES solutions with cloud-native infrastructure.

Project Management:

  • Manage small to medium-sized global projects in a fast-paced and agile environment.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver successful MES implementations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in production processes, with a focus on IT systems or engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure (Windows/Linux, Citrix).
    • Experience with database systems (Oracle/PostgreSQL).
    • Familiarity with Docker, RedHat OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
  • Project Management: Experience leading small to medium-sized cross-functional global projects.
  • Preferred Skills (Not Required): Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (especially Körber PAS-X 3.2 or 3.3).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong team player with a solution-oriented approach.
    • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Language: Fluent in English.
