IDS/Research Pharmacist – Oncology

Location: Santa Monica, CA
Salary Range: $85.87 – $100.58 per hour
Work Mode: On-site, with travel to multiple UCLA Health locations

Job Summary

UCLA Health is hiring an IDS/Research Pharmacist – Oncology to support its world-class clinical research operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring investigational drug services (IDS) are executed with the highest standard of clinical, regulatory, and operational compliance. As a key liaison between pharmacy, physicians, and research teams, you'll be responsible for managing drug accountability, protocol adherence, and sterile/PO medication dispensing—all while shaping the future of patient-centered cancer therapies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage investigational drug studies from initiation through close-out

  • Dispense IV and oral medications per protocol specifications

  • Ensure compliance with GCP, FDA, IRB, and institutional guidelines

  • Perform quality control, documentation, and drug accountability tracking

  • Collaborate with PI and research teams for ongoing study operations

  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff

  • Adapt quickly to evolving research and clinical requirements

  • Travel between UCLA Health sites as needed


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • PharmD degree from an accredited institution

  • Valid pharmacist license in California

  • Experience in clinical oncology or investigational drug services (IDS)

  • Strong understanding of GCP, ICH guidelines, and pharmacy law

  • Proficiency in IV preparation and hazardous drug handling

  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple protocols in a fast-paced environment

  • 2–4 years of pharmacy experience in a clinical research or hospital setting preferred
