Job Title: IDS/Research Pharmacist – Oncology

Location: Santa Monica, California
Salary Range: $85.87 – $100.58 per hour (Union represented; based on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time (Staff – Career)
Work Mode: On-site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, varied shifts based on department needs; ability to travel across multiple UCLA Health sites


Job Summary:

UCLA Health is hiring an IDS/Research Pharmacist specializing in Oncology to oversee investigational drug protocols and support clinical research operations. This on-site role is critical in ensuring regulatory compliance, safe drug handling, and seamless collaboration with clinical trial stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all investigational drug service (IDS) activities in oncology clinical trials

  • Oversee study setup, drug dispensation, monitoring, and close-out processes

  • Dispense oral and IV medications accurately and in compliance with protocols

  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations, SOPs, and trial requirements

  • Supervise and guide support pharmacy staff within the research setting

  • Foster effective communication with physicians, research teams, and administration

  • Maintain high standards of documentation, drug accountability, and inventory control

  • Contribute to a patient-focused culture aligned with UCLA Health’s core mission


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Registered Pharmacist license in California

  • Strong understanding of investigational drugs and oncology trials

  • Knowledge of GCP, USP 797/800, FDA IND regulations, and ICH guidelines

  • Experience in clinical research or investigational drug services preferred

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple protocols simultaneously

  • Willingness to travel across UCLA Health sites as required
