Job Summary:

The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the product life cycle (PLC) of brands, focusing on the development, collaboration, implementation, and accountability of strategic and operational plans that drive profitability, market share, and revenue growth for the brand portfolio. This role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and market intelligence to execute marketing strategies and achieve business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic and Operational Planning:

    • Develop, collaborate, and implement strategic and operational plans to optimize profitability, market share, and revenue growth for the brand portfolio.
    • Lead various assignments to support the business unit’s overall goals.
  2. Marketing & Promotional Planning:

    • Create marketing and promotional plans for products, ensuring alignment with consumer needs.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to implement marketing strategies and connect with end consumers.
  3. Market Intelligence & Research:

    • Conduct primary research and gather customer insights to drive market intelligence.
    • Use competitive analysis and customer feedback to inform marketing strategy.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with internal teams such as medical affairs, learning and development, and R&D to ensure coordinated product planning and execution.
    • Ensure the proper execution of marketing strategies in collaboration with internal and external media teams.
  5. Sales Team Training & Development:

    • Provide product knowledge and training to the field sales team to ensure they are well-equipped with scientific and communication skills.
    • Continuously support the sales team through training camps, award ceremonies, and recognition programs.
  6. Brand Strategy & Market Penetration:

    • Develop brand strategies for the product range, including market penetration strategies, market research, and competitor analysis.
    • Conduct SWOT analysis of product lines to identify opportunities for growth.
  7. Promotional Material Creation:

    • Create brand materials such as VA (Value Added), LBL (Leave Behind Literature), newsletters, flipcharts, and digital campaigns (website/app launch, webinars) for promotional purposes.
  8. Visibility & Brand Promotion:

    • Organize and conduct meetings, scientific symposia, CMEs, and conferences to promote brand visibility within the pharmaceutical industry and among healthcare professionals.
    • Ensure the brand is represented at key events and that target audiences are engaged.
  9. Product Forecasting & Strategy:

    • Oversee product forecasting and develop new product pipeline strategies.
    • Lead pre-launch, launch, and post-launch strategies for new products.
    • Implement new initiatives to drive product growth and expansion.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Educational Qualification:

    • MBA in Marketing or Pharma Management, or a related field.
    • B. Pharma or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 3-7 years of experience in product marketing, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
    • Strong experience in leading product strategies and managing marketing initiatives.
  • Skills:

    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and collaborate effectively.
    • Experience with market research and customer insight-driven marketing.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Therapy Area Knowledge: Oncology experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Sales & Marketing Knowledge: Experience working in a highly competitive pharmaceutical environment.
  • Product Launch Experience: Hands-on experience in launching and promoting new products.
