About the Department

The MedComm, Rare Disease P&PS team is part of Novo Nordisk’s Global Business Services (GBS) in Bangalore, collaborating closely with the Global Medical Affairs department in Zurich, Switzerland. The team comprises global scientific advisors, project managers, medical advisors, publication managers, and designers, focused on delivering:

  • High-quality, compliant medical and scientific content

  • Global publication planning and medical education support

  • Strategic cross-functional collaboration across medical affairs, affiliates, and key stakeholders

This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment emphasizing teamwork, innovation, and strategic scientific leadership.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as a therapeutic-area expert across rare disease portfolios, including haemoglobinopathies, rare bleeding disorders, and endocrine conditions

  • Lead the development and critical review of scientific and omni-channel engagement materials, including slide decks, graphical abstracts, educational modules, and publication content

  • Ensure scientific accuracy, medical appropriateness, and regulatory compliance in all communications

  • Provide internal medical guidance, prioritize launch product timelines, and support global medical strategies

  • Mentor junior team members and identify process improvement opportunities

Stakeholder Engagement & Medical Communication

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including medical affairs, field medical teams, marketing, and regulatory functions

  • Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), professional societies, and external experts to strengthen scientific dialogue and knowledge exchange

  • Support global clinical and educational activities, including advisory boards, symposia, and continuing medical education programs

Innovation & Digital Transformation

  • Utilize and develop AI tools and digital solutions to optimize medical communication activities

  • Translate complex scientific data into clear, actionable insights for both internal and external stakeholders


Education & Experience Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • MD, PhD, or equivalent advanced degree in healthcare, medicine, or life sciences

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in medical affairs, medical communications, or pharmaceutical/biotech industry roles

  • Proven expertise in clinical medicine, clinical research, or drug development

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong ability to plan, execute, and lead global medical initiatives independently

  • Expertise in developing high-quality, compliant scientific content and publications

  • Demonstrated success in managing global medical events, including advisory boards, symposia, and scientific programs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation abilities
