Key Responsibilities

Global Publication Strategy

  • Lead and execute global publication strategy for the rare disease portfolio
  • Define scientific publication priorities aligned with clinical and medical strategy
  • Drive strategic dissemination of research findings to maximize scientific impact and treatment awareness
  • Ensure timely delivery of publication objectives across global programs

Publication Planning & Governance

  • Plan, chair, and manage Publication Planning Group (PPG) meetings
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional teams on:
    • Publication priorities
    • Scientific timelines
    • Authorship decisions
    • Strategic communication planning
  • Facilitate effective decision-making across stakeholders

End-to-End Publication Management
Manage the complete scientific publication lifecycle, including:

  • Publication concept development
  • Manuscript planning and execution
  • Author coordination
  • Journal submissions
  • Peer-review response management
  • Publication approvals
  • Post-publication engagement activities

Scientific Congress & Medical Communications

  • Coordinate scientific congress deliverables including:
    • Abstracts
    • Posters
    • Oral presentations
    • Publication extenders
    • Scientific communication materials
  • Ensure alignment with broader medical and commercial strategies

Compliance & Scientific Integrity

  • Ensure adherence to:
    • GPP4 (Good Publication Practice)
    • ICMJE guidelines
    • Internal company SOPs
    • Scientific authorship standards
  • Maintain high ethical standards and scientific transparency across publication activities

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Build and manage relationships with:
    • Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
    • Medical writers
    • External medical communication agencies
    • Internal medical and cross-functional teams
  • Oversee publication budgets, contracts, and vendor deliverables

Training & Capability Development

  • Train internal stakeholders on publication governance and authorship best practices
  • Support publication excellence initiatives
  • Promote process consistency and strategic publication standards
