Job Overview

We are hiring a Global Publications Lead to drive global scientific publication strategy for rare disease therapies and lead end-to-end publication planning, execution, compliance, and stakeholder management.

This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in medical publications, scientific communications, publication strategy, manuscript development, congress communications, publication compliance, and cross-functional pharma stakeholder management.

The ideal candidate will lead publication strategy for global rare disease programs, ensuring timely dissemination of scientific evidence through journals, congresses, and strategic communication channels.


Key Responsibilities

Global Publication Strategy

  • Develop and execute global publication strategies for rare disease therapeutic programs.
  • Align publication activities with broader medical and portfolio strategy.
  • Drive evidence dissemination to scientific and healthcare audiences.

Publication strategy scope includes:

  • Primary manuscripts
  • Secondary analyses
  • Pooled analyses
  • Scientific communication deliverables
  • Congress communication strategy

Publication Planning Leadership

Lead Publication Planning Group (PPG) governance by:

  • Planning and chairing publication meetings
  • Driving stakeholder alignment
  • Managing publication priorities
  • Defining timelines
  • Supporting authorship planning
  • Enabling timely decision-making

Act as the strategic publication lead across functions.


End-to-End Publication Management

Manage the full scientific publication lifecycle including:

  • Concept development
  • Publication planning
  • Manuscript strategy
  • Author coordination
  • Draft review workflows
  • Journal submission
  • Peer review response management
  • Publication approvals
  • Post-publication activities

Ensure seamless execution from idea to publication.


Manuscript Development Oversight

Lead delivery of:

  • Primary manuscripts
  • Secondary publications
  • Pooled data publications
  • Scientific summaries
  • Publication extenders

Maintain scientific accuracy, strategic relevance, and publication quality.


Congress Scientific Communications

Coordinate development of:

  • Abstracts
  • Posters
  • Oral presentations
  • Congress slide decks
  • Publication extenders

Ensure alignment with:

  • Medical strategy
  • Scientific communication objectives
  • Conference timelines

Publication Compliance & Scientific Integrity

Ensure adherence to publication and ethics standards including:

  • GPP4
  • ICMJE guidelines
  • Company SOPs
  • Publication ethics requirements
  • Authorship compliance standards

Maintain highest standards of:

  • Transparency
  • Scientific integrity
  • Ethical publishing
  • Regulatory alignment

Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with:

  • Medical Affairs teams
  • Clinical teams
  • Internal medical writers
  • External publication agencies
  • Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
  • Cross-functional global stakeholders

Drive alignment, execution, and communication across global teams.


KOL & Author Management

  • Manage relationships with scientific authors and KOLs.
  • Coordinate authorship communications.
  • Support publication governance and engagement strategy.

Vendor & Agency Management

Oversee:

  • External publication vendors
  • Medical communication agencies
  • Publication partners

Responsibilities include:

  • Budget management
  • Contract coordination
  • Deliverable oversight
  • Quality governance

Training & Capability Building

  • Train internal stakeholders on:
    • Publication best practices
    • Authorship standards
    • Publication compliance
    • Scientific communication principles

Promote publication excellence across teams.


Systems & Publication Tools

  • Use publication management systems effectively.
  • Act as advanced user / super user where needed.

Required Qualifications

Education

Master’s Degree or PhD in:

  • Life Sciences
  • Medicine
  • Endocrinology

Experience Required

  • 4–6 years of publication management experience
  • 4+ years of project management experience
