Job Title: Global Program Head, Neurology

About the Job

Sanofi is seeking a Global Program Head (GPH), Neurology to oversee key development activities in the Neurology & Ophthalmology Development (NOD) unit. This highly visible role is responsible for shaping strategy, managing execution, and leading global program teams (GPTs) for neurology clinical-stage assets.

The role combines strategic leadership, scientific expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate drug discovery and development in areas such as Multiple Sclerosis, CIDP, Parkinson’s Disease, and Alzheimer’s Disease.

The GPH will serve as a critical member of the NOD leadership team, managing medical directors and clinical scientists, influencing program strategy, and engaging with global stakeholders including regulatory authorities, operational teams, and commercial partners.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Technical Expertise

  • Maintain deep expertise in neurology and clinical development.

  • Stay updated on pre-clinical, clinical pharmacology, and competitor data.

  • Critically evaluate medical literature and competitive products.

  • Represent Sanofi externally to maintain scientific credibility.

Program Strategy & Execution

  • Own global program strategy and lead cross-functional GPTs.

  • Drive development planning, execution, and budget accountability.

  • Oversee lifecycle management and collaborate with marketing teams.

  • Develop strategies for interactions with health authorities.

  • Ensure operational plans are integrated across functions.

  • Deliver annual budget and program milestones.

Management & Career Development

  • Recruit, train, and develop team members, ensuring compliance training.

  • Set team objectives and support individual career development.

  • Lead international, cross-functional teams of medical and scientific professionals.

Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Ensure clinical data meets global regulatory standards.

  • Support regulatory submissions, product labels, and registrations.

  • Lead Advisory Committee preparation and participation.

Scientific Data Dissemination

  • Ensure timely publication and dissemination of clinical data.

  • Plan and support advisory board meetings.

  • Build collaborations with external experts and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

Compliance

  • Ensure all GPT activities align with global regulations (FDA, EMA, CHMP) and Sanofi’s internal policies and procedures.


About You

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MD or PhD in relevant field preferred.

  • 10+ years of industry/business experience, with 6+ years in drug development (neurology preferred).

  • Strong leadership experience with international, cross-functional teams.

  • Proven regulatory interaction experience.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in Neurology and late-stage clinical development.

  • Prior experience with Multiple Sclerosis drug development preferred.

  • Strong cross-cultural networking ability.

  • Skilled in strategic planning, project management, and resource allocation.

  • Experience in global drug development, market access, and medical sciences.
