Position Summary

The Global Head of Engineering & Energy Consumption will oversee global engineering maintenance activities while leading energy management initiatives across pharmaceutical facilities. This role is key in driving continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency, sustainability, and environmental impact reduction, optimizing energy consumption, and ensuring uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Strategy: Lead and manage the engineering department, developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance operational performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
Maintenance & Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and facilities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, with a focus on ZERO downtime.
Leadership & Team Development: Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to the engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
KPI Monitoring & Improvement: Monitor and analyse KPIs to assess engineering department performance and identify areas for improvement.
Energy Management: Develop and implement energy management strategies to optimize energy consumption, reduce energy use, and minimize environmental impact across facilities.
Energy Audits & Assessments: Conduct energy audits to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements, developing action plans to implement energy-saving measures.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with energy-related regulations and environmental standards, managing certifications as necessary.
Sustainability & Innovation: Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and advancements in pharmaceutical engineering to drive innovation and maintain a competitive advantage.

Job Requirements

🎓 Education:

  • Bachelors in Engineering.
  • Additional courses in Energy Management or Environmental Science are a plus.

💼 Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in engineering functions within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Proven experience in managing engineering teams and complex projects, from conception to completion.

💡 Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities, and regulatory requirements (FDA, cGMP).
  • Familiarity with energy regulations, standards, and certifications.
