Founded by physicians in 1983 and headquartered in North Carolina's Research Triangle, we provide quality improvement, clinical review, audit, technical, and consulting services aimed at improving care delivery, system performance, and patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do
Constellation Quality Health is seeking a Freelance Health Care Business Writer to support the Program Solutions division and consulting teams. The role involves writing, drafting, and editing various reports, proposals, and business documents, including:

  • Center of Innovation documents and reports
  • Quality Reports
  • Business development documents like Request for Proposals (RFPs), grant proposals, and white papers

The writer will also develop and maintain a Constellation Quality Health Style Manual, report templates, and assist with the organization’s business writing needs.

This is a remote work opportunity!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality, scientifically accurate documents under strict timelines while ensuring consistency across related documents.
  • Perform quality checks on documents before approval and ensure they follow the proper review and approval cycles.
  • Manage timelines and communicate effectively with team members to keep everyone aligned on expectations, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Review and edit documents authored by internal and external contributors.
  • Collaborate with leadership, Program Solutions staff, Business Development, researchers, project managers, data analysts, consultants, and others to develop consistent, high-quality reports and documents.
  • Identify potential issues and proactively resolve challenges to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate draft version control, share updates, solicit feedback from subject matter experts (SMEs), and ensure adherence to timelines.

Who You Are
The ideal Health Care Business Writer is a skilled communicator with strong attention to detail, quality, and consistency. You are able to stay calm and diplomatic in challenging situations while helping to facilitate high-quality deliverables. You take initiative and demonstrate sound judgment when facing new or unfamiliar project situations, proactively evaluating risks and seeking solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or a related field.
  • At least five years of writing and editing experience.
  • Preferably experience in healthcare, quality, or Program Integrity settings.
  • Expertise in proper use of English grammar, syntax, punctuation, and sentence structure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with content experts and authors to create or shape content.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and produce high-quality documents under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to critically analyze, synthesize, and present complex information in clear, accurate documents.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare systems, clinical research, and medical terminology is preferred.
