Key Responsibilities:

Customer Focus and Coverage:

  • Imbibe the product-related features and benefits, including scientific information, to effectively communicate with medical doctors and handle product-related customer queries.
  • Actively participate in identifying key and potential medical practitioners and specialists in the assigned territory and prioritize for systematic customer coverage to maximize prescription sales.
  • Classify medical practitioners in the territory into three categories: TPL, RPL, and SPL, in descending order of importance.
  • Review and discuss plans for achieving the territory’s sales budget each month. Seek assistance from the District Sales Manager and Zonal Sales Manager in formulating sales strategies.
  • Ensure thorough pre-call planning and seek the assistance of the District Sales Manager when necessary.

Sales Performance & Results:

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets consistently through effective sales promotion strategies and follow-ups.
  • Continuously sharpen product knowledge and detailing skills to enhance productivity.

Planning & Analyzing Sales Performance:

  • Follow the approved tour program and submit daily reports electronically, detailing calls made to doctors’ clinics and hospitals.
  • Maintain contact with nursing homes, clinics, and hospitals to collect data on medicine budgets, purchase modes, rate contracts, and drug committee members.
  • Maintain regular contact with medical practitioners, consultants, chemists, and wholesalers.
  • Book orders from retailers to ensure adequate availability of products and assist in product display at retail outlets.
  • Implement special schedules for doctors’ visits during new product launches or sales campaigns, utilizing promotional materials and strategies.

Meetings:

  • Actively participate in cycle meetings, periodic sales and marketing meetings, and conventions.
  • Conduct group meetings, speaker programs, and round table meetings for doctors and chemists.
  • Organize camps in coordination with medical associations.

Industry & Product Knowledge:

  • Regularly visit chemists to ensure the sale of company products and collect competitor sales data.
  • Stay updated on competitor activities through visits to wholesalers and retailers and systematic data collection.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the company’s SOPs and protocols.
  • Adhere to guidelines for Adverse Event Reporting and take prompt action as required.

Market Analysis:

  • Maintain a quality customer list and current profiles of key accounts, influencers, and clinical thought leaders.
  • Display knowledge of key customers in the assigned territory.

Building Relations:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Collaborate with team members to arrange speakers, displays, special programs, and CMEs to enhance product knowledge.

Distribution & Resource Allocation:

  • Ensure adequate inventory levels with trade partners and take prompt action to prevent product expiry.

Financials:

  • Follow up on the timely collection of outstanding dues.
  • Achieve sales budgets and assist in receivables collection when required.
  • Ensure proper utilization of product samples, detailing aids, and promotional materials.
  • Accurately account for and report expenses.

Administrative Values:

  • Submit daily call reports, sales documents, feedback reports, and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrate leadership behavior and adhere to company guidelines.
