Role Overview

The Expert Science & Technology (Oral Solid Dosage forms) contributes to drug development by performing and documenting scientific experiments on drug substances (DS) and drug products (DP). The role collaborates with multifunctional project teams, supports laboratory operations, and ensures timely execution of project-related activities aligned with TRD-NCE strategies and goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, execute, and document scientific experiments (e.g., analytical method development, validation, transfer, stability, release testing, formulation development analytics).

  • Maintain laboratory instruments and day-to-day operations.

  • Ensure proper documentation and submission of raw data in appropriate data systems (e.g., LIMS).

  • Adhere to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

  • Support evaluation and interpretation of results, including investigations of SST failures, deviations, change controls, or out-of-specification (OOX) results.

  • Manage assigned laboratory-related areas and activities (chemicals, reagents, consumables, samples, columns, glassware, etc.).

  • Implement and maintain lean, efficient, and environmentally sustainable laboratory practices.

  • Proactively communicate critical issues to managers and project team members.

  • Meet Key Quality Indicators (KQI) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for assigned activities.

  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring no critical findings.

  • Contribute actively to team and organizational goals.

  • Work according to SOPs, GMP, GLP, QM, HSE, ISRM, and Novartis guidelines.

  • Complete specific business roles and training assignments (e.g., Up4Growth).


Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Life Science (analytical/organic chemistry, pharmacy, pharmaceutical development) or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) forms.

  • Hands-on experience with chromatography, multimedia dissolution, in-vivo & in-vitro dissolution, quality investigations, QbD, etc.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Fluent in English (oral and written); knowledge of site language if required.

  • Understanding of GMP, general regulatory, and quality expectations.

  • Strong scientific background, communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
