Position Overview

Medpace, a leading global Clinical Research Organization (CRO) serving biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, is seeking an Executive Director of Clinical Trial Project Management. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee high-impact clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas and drive organizational excellence.

The role provides remote flexibility for candidates with relevant experience and includes a highly competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and equity grants for senior-level associates.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and ensure accountability for day-to-day clinical trial operations, aligning with contract obligations, ICH/GCP guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as the primary Sponsor contact for operational project issues, timelines, and study deliverables.

  • Maintain in-depth expertise of study protocols, therapeutic areas, and indications.

  • Provide cross-functional oversight of internal project teams, including training, task allocation, and performance monitoring.

  • Review and provide strategic input on study protocols, edit check specifications, data analysis plans, and final study reports.

  • Develop and execute operational project plans, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

  • Manage external study vendors to ensure quality, compliance, and timely deliverables.

  • Oversee site quality and monitoring, including direct supervision of project Clinical Research Associates (CRAs).

  • Drive strategic initiatives and provide mentorship to project teams, supporting organizational objectives.


Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Medical, or related field required; Master’s or PhD preferred.

  • Proven experience leading international CRO Project Management or Clinical Trial Management teams.

  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex clinical trials, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to translate organizational strategy into actionable project plans.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
