Job Summary

Cognizant is hiring an experienced Epidemiologist to join its growing healthcare division in Budapest, Hungary. This role focuses on conducting high-quality literature reviews, critical appraisal of epidemiological studies, and preparation of Pharmacoepidemiology reports. Ideal for professionals with a background in Public Health, Life Sciences, or Epidemiology, this position offers a multicultural work environment with a blend of remote flexibility and on-site collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews as per client epidemiologist requests using best practice methodologies.

  • Perform literature searches and prepare detailed Pharmacoepidemiology review reports.

  • Deliver scientific and technical peer reviews.

  • Adhere to client-specific guidance for literature reviews and report quality standards.

  • Collaborate with client epidemiologists to set project timelines and address queries.

  • Understand disease areas and therapeutic mechanisms relevant to projects.

  • Participate in Safety Management Team (SMT) meetings as required.

  • Discuss literature review findings and epidemiological interpretations with internal stakeholders.

  • Independently contribute to drug safety-related documents like RMPs, dSPPs, ODA, PLLR updates, and PIPs.

  • Lead innovative epidemiological projects sponsored by clients.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or Life Sciences/Healthcare.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in literature reviews related to Epidemiology or Public Health.

  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software such as STATA or SAS.

  • Strong knowledge of epidemiological methods, study designs, and medical statistics.

  • Ability to critically appraise and synthesize scientific literature.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Experience preparing scientific reports and disseminating findings effectively.

  • Good teamwork, ethical practice, and initiative for process improvements.
