Job Title: Environmental Monitoring Associate (EM Associate) – Weekend Days

Location: Spokane, Washington

Shift: Weekend Days (Friday - Sunday & Every other Thursday, 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

Compensation:

  • Hiring Wage: $22.98/hr with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
  • Shift Differential Pay: Available based on hours worked on selected shifts:
    • Weekend Day Shift 12 Hrs: 12%
    • Weekend Night Shift 12 Hrs: 15%

Job Summary: The Environmental Monitoring Associate (EM Associate) is responsible for monitoring biological and airborne particulate levels in clean room environments for sterile injectable drug product preparation, compounding, and filling. The EM Associate will be trained in aseptic behavior, sanitization processes, and gowning techniques while working with environmental monitoring software and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

First 6 Months:

  • Collect product and environmental samples in ISO 8 environments over extended shifts (8, 10, or 12-hour shifts).
  • Operate sampling and testing equipment and compile data using associated software.
  • Prepare supplies for sample collection and testing.
  • Operate an autoclave for sterilizing supplies.
  • Perform sample verification, incubation, and data verification for accuracy.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain training requirements.
  • Achieve Aseptic Gown Certification.

6 to 12 Months:

  • Successfully gown for ISO 7, 6, and 5 classifications.
  • Collect test samples for surface, air, personnel, product, and utility systems.
  • Redline and review SOPs, writing clear, concise observational memos.
  • Assist in environmental investigations and review environmental data.
  • Perform training for Aseptic Area Gown Certification and SOPs, and obtain "train the trainer" certification.

12 to 24 Months:

  • Cross-train on multiple sterile filling lines.
  • Maintain gown certification for ISO 7, 6, and 5.
  • Perform leadership functions for assigned areas and manage training programs for technicians.
  • Assist in environmental investigations and trend analysis of environmental data.
  • Review and change SOPs related to environmental monitoring.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed procedures independently.
  • Must possess clear communication skills with the ability to collaborate with other departments on environmental monitoring and quality issues.
  • Ability to make simple decisions based on available information.
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted, prolonged standing and sitting, twisting, and compliance with aseptic gowning requirements.
