The Role
Roche/Genentech Pharma Product Development Global Clinical Operations (PDG) is transforming drug development to deliver 20 transformative medicines by 2029. We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Clinical Service Provider Lead to join our Clinical Sourcing & Partnerships (CSP) function. This role is critical in managing and optimizing enterprise-wide clinical service provider categories, including CROs, IxRS, eCOA, and laboratories.

You will leverage global supplier management expertise to enhance the performance of Clinical Operations service providers across Roche and Genentech business units, directly impacting global product development and early research programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end management and strategic oversight of enterprise-wide clinical service categories, ensuring high performance and delivery standards.

  • Own supplier governance, including issue resolution and escalation processes across clinical operations.

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing models for clinical suppliers (CRO, IxRS, eCOA, labs).

  • Partner with Global Procurement to establish financial oversight, optimize spend, benchmark service provider budgets, and manage change orders.

  • Facilitate governance meetings and performance reviews with service providers, ensuring quality and productivity.

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Clinical Science, Data Science, Safety, Regulatory, and Clinical Operations, to address cost, quality, and timeline priorities.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 8+ years in strategic supplier performance management in clinical development or direct experience managing clinical suppliers at study and portfolio levels.

  • Expertise in Clinical Research Organization (CRO) management, including supplier landscape knowledge, sourcing strategies, and performance metrics (KPIs, KQIs).

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills across complex, global organizations.

  • Demonstrated ability to make strategic decisions balancing short- and long-term business impacts.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Life Sciences, or related field; advanced degrees (MBA, Master’s in Healthcare Management) or professional certifications preferred.
