Executive – EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) – Baddi, India

Job Summary:

Abbott is hiring an experienced Executive – EHS for its pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. This role plays a vital part in ensuring site-wide compliance with EHS regulations, employee training, and safe operations in alignment with global standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Ideal for professionals with 5–10 years’ EHS experience in a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing setup.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with EHS legal and Abbott corporate requirements.

  • Conduct regular shop floor rounds and interact with employees to promote safety.

  • Deliver EHS training across departments on topics like risk, fire, chemical safety, and PPE.

  • Implement EHS SOPs and global/divisional standards within the local facility.

  • Perform risk assessments for high-risk activities and ensure machine guarding compliance.

  • Develop and manage Emergency Response Teams; organize mock and fire drills.

  • Oversee chemical safety — from receipt and storage to disposal.

  • Drive robust incident reporting, investigation, and CAPA closure.

  • Monitor effectiveness of the Permit to Work system.

  • Maintain fire control systems, PPE inventory, and hazardous waste disposal practices.

  • Support audits, inspections, and participate in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation.

  • Drive EHS awareness campaigns (e.g., World Environment Day, Safety Week).

  • Prepare EHS reports and handle SAP-based procurement for EHS-related items.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. or Diploma/B.Tech in Chemical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Diploma in Industrial Safety is mandatory.

  • 5–10 years of hands-on EHS experience in pharma/chemical/engineering environments.

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 systems.

  • Familiarity with SAP, permit-to-work systems, chemical handling, and fire prevention tools.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for employee engagement and audits.
