Role Summary

The Disease Area Specialist (CV) serves as a strategic medical partner within the cardiovascular therapeutic area. This role acts as a bridge between medical strategy and field execution, ensuring alignment with global and country-level medical objectives.

The position is primarily home-office based with 20–30% field engagement, collaborating closely with medical, marketing, and field medical teams to drive scientific strategy, education, and appropriate product adoption.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Strategy & Execution

  • Align country medical activities with global (WW) medical strategies.

  • Implement therapeutic area strategies and initiatives within the cardiovascular domain.

  • Collaborate with Country Medical Director to ensure strategic alignment and execution excellence.

  • Drive high-quality medical educational programs in cardiovascular therapy areas.


Clinical & Scientific Leadership

  • Provide scientific expertise and mentorship to medical teams, including MSLs and new joiners.

  • Act as a key scientific reference within the cardiovascular therapeutic area.

  • Ensure continuous scientific upskilling across cross-functional teams.


Clinical Trial & Research Support

  • Ensure clinical trials in India are executed within agreed timelines, quality standards, and budgets.

  • Collaborate with Regional Clinical Operations (RCO) teams to support trial delivery.

  • Contribute to improving clinical research effectiveness and patient access.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with medical, marketing, and field medical science liaison (MSL) teams.

  • Collaborate with intercontinental operational leads to maintain regional alignment.

  • Represent India in global and intercontinental medical discussions.


Training & Capability Building

  • Support continuous medical education for MSLs, FMSM, sales, and marketing teams.

  • Promote scientific knowledge-sharing across the organization.

  • Act as a role model for ethical and professional medical practice.


Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Promote a strong culture of compliance, ethics, and accountability.

  • Monitor and reinforce adherence to medical governance standards.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Medical qualification (MD or equivalent degree required).

  • Specialization or strong experience in Cardiovascular (CV) therapy area preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 4–5 years of pharmaceutical or industry experience.

  • Strong experience in cardiovascular therapeutic area, preferably with innovative medicines.

  • Proven experience in strategy development and execution in a matrix organization.
