Director of Sales, Oncology Clinical Data Insights

About the Role:
Cencora is seeking a driven Director of Sales to lead sales and account management efforts for oncology-related data analytics, market research, and educational solutions. This remote position focuses on selling to key healthcare stakeholders such as pharmaceutical manufacturers and cancer testing companies. You will lead opportunity identification, manage contract negotiations, and help meet ambitious revenue targets, while building strong relationships with corporate partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and manage client relationships across assigned accounts

  • Lead proposal development, client presentations, pricing discussions, and contracts

  • Act as a client advocate ensuring timely and accurate delivery of market research and education programs

  • Identify new business opportunities and growth strategies in oncology

  • Collaborate with internal departments including Client Service, Business Analytics, and Corporate Accounts

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with PhRMA code, FDA regulations, and internal policies

  • Regularly update CRM with all account activity

  • Present solutions to market research, marketing, and brand teams of client companies

  • Attend major meetings (e.g., ASCO, national events, client meetings – including some weekends)


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • 7+ years of progressive sales experience in healthcare/pharma industry

  • Prior oncology experience is mandatory

  • Experience in data/analytics, market research service sales, and secondary data sets (e.g., EMR, medical/pharmacy claims)

  • Familiarity with pharma functions including outcomes research, managed care, reimbursement, and government affairs

  • Excellent consultative sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Strong business strategy, analytical, and creative problem-solving abilities

  • Capable of working cross-functionally, influencing without authority

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel

  • Willing to travel up to 50% domestically
