Director, Medical Safety – Delhi

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Medical Safety to lead pharmacovigilance and risk management functions at a premier pharmaceutical organization in Delhi. This senior leadership role involves overseeing global safety strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting medical safety across clinical development and marketed products. Ideal for professionals with 8+ years of experience in drug safety, medical affairs, or clinical pharmacology, this role offers the opportunity to impact global health outcomes through proactive safety management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global safety and pharmacovigilance strategy across therapeutic areas

  • Oversee signal detection, benefit-risk assessments, and safety risk management plans

  • Provide safety input to clinical development plans, protocols, and study reports

  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities for safety submissions and inquiries

  • Review and approve aggregate safety reports (PBRER, DSUR, RMP)

  • Guide post-marketing surveillance and signal evaluation

  • Represent medical safety on cross-functional project teams

  • Mentor and manage global pharmacovigilance professionals

  • Ensure alignment with international safety regulations (ICH-GCP, GVP, FDA, EMA)


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD, MBBS, or equivalent) or advanced life sciences qualification

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in medical safety, pharmacovigilance, or clinical development

  • Strong knowledge of global PV regulations (ICH-GCP, GVP, MedDRA, CIOMS)

  • Experience in safety signal detection and risk evaluation

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally

  • Excellent communication and scientific writing skills

  • Proven leadership and people management capabilities
