About the Role:

The Global Medical Publications Lead will serve as a strategic advisor to pharmaceutical clients, driving the planning and execution of high-impact, compliant publication strategies across various therapeutic areas. This leadership role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to align scientific communication efforts with broader medical and commercial objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of global publication strategies across multiple therapeutic areas in collaboration with medical affairs, strategy, epidemiology, and communications teams.

  • Act as a strategic partner to clients, aligning publications with product or disease strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as GPP 2022, ICMJE, CONSORT, STROBE, and PRISMA.

  • Guide and review work of medical writers to ensure scientific rigor, consistency, and timely delivery.

  • Coordinate with external stakeholders including authors, journal editors, and vendors.

  • Provide mentorship, training, and quality oversight to internal publication teams.

  • Oversee budgets and resource allocations for publication projects.

  • Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and process optimization in publication practices.

  • Promote a collaborative and transparent publication culture within the organization.


Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Advanced degree (M.D., Pharm.D., Ph.D.) or a Master’s in biomedical sciences or related field.

Experience:

  • 10–12 years in the pharmaceutical or medical communications industry.

  • 8+ years in a publication-focused role within Medical Affairs.

  • Proven experience managing complex publication programs.

  • Strong familiarity with publication structures, statistical concepts, and scientific reporting standards.

  • ISMPP CMPP certification preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of regulatory and scientific publication standards.

  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to interpret and translate clinical data into strategic publication deliverables.

  • Global mindset with experience working in cross-cultural and geographically dispersed teams.

  • Experience in client-driven environments with high accountability.
