Position Summary:
The Director, Business Development – Market Access Healthcare Consulting will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities to support the growth of the Market Access, HEOR (Health Economics and Outcomes Research), and Consulting teams. This role works closely with cross-functional stakeholders, clients, and internal experts to drive strategic initiatives and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary external expert on our consulting offerings, services, and market position.

  • Cultivate new client relationships while maintaining and expanding existing partnerships.

  • Lead the end-to-end sales process—from lead generation to deal closure.

  • Work collaboratively with Cencora consultants to understand client needs and customize solutions accordingly.

  • Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities in Market Access, RWE (Real World Evidence), HEOR, and payer marketing.

  • Represent Cencora at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.

  • Provide ongoing feedback to internal teams on client needs and service opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, insurance, or biotechnology industry.

  • At least 5-7 years of business development, sales, marketing, or account management experience.

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical market access, global healthcare environments, and consulting processes.

  • Demonstrated success in securing business and growing revenue in a consultative environment.

  • Familiarity with CRMs (e.g., Salesforce) and business intelligence tools.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven and proactive approach.

  • Strong executive presence and comfort interfacing with C-suite stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Ability to navigate and influence in cross-functional settings.

Compensation:
Salary Range: $121,000 – $186,230 (national average; regional variances may apply)
