JOB OVERVIEW
Bayer is seeking a Digital Medical Scientific Liaison (DMSL) to act as a key scientific interface between the organization and the external healthcare community. The role focuses on digital-first engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs), thought leaders (TLs), and key decision-makers to disseminate scientific information, generate insights, and support medical strategy.

This role is designed for professionals who are passionate about combining medical science with digital innovation to expand medical reach across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and underserved healthcare networks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Scientific Engagement & Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain scientific relationships with thought leaders (TLs), rising-star HCPs, and academic experts

  • Act as a scientific expert to communicate medical and clinical information in compliance with regulations

  • Build trust-based relationships with HCPs not covered by field-based MSL teams

  • Expand scientific engagement across emerging geographies and specialties

Digital Medical Engagement Strategy

  • Deliver scientific communication through virtual meetings, remote engagements, and digital channels

  • Utilize innovative digital tools and platforms to enhance HCP engagement

  • Customize content delivery based on HCP needs, preferences, and scientific requirements

  • Support virtual advisory boards, CMEs, symposia, and educational programs

Medical Insights & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collect, analyze, and communicate HCP insights to internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate with MSLs, Key Account Managers (KAMs), First Line Sales Managers (FLSMs), and Medical Affairs teams

  • Identify scientific and educational needs and translate them into actionable content strategies

  • Support clinical operations and trial teams with feasibility and initiation activities

Clinical & Medical Operations Support

  • Assist in interventional clinical trial-related activities including feasibility assessments

  • Support data collection and site engagement activities where required

  • Document and process medical information queries in compliance with internal procedures

Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Maintain accurate documentation of HCP interactions and scientific engagements

  • Submit timely reports aligned with performance objectives

  • Track engagement metrics and ensure compliance with medical governance standards


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Fresher or 2–3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, clinical research, or medical affairs roles

  • Prior experience as an MSL, clinical research associate, drug information specialist, or medical communications associate preferred

  • Exposure to cardiovascular, chronic kidney disease, or diabetes therapeutic areas is an advantage


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, or Life Sciences is required

  • Advanced degrees such as MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent are preferred


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Scientific & Clinical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of medical science and clinical research principles

  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific data

  • Familiarity with therapeutic areas such as cardiometabolic diseases preferred

Digital & Analytical Skills

  • Strong digital literacy and familiarity with virtual engagement tools

  • Ability to create or support digital scientific content

  • Basic statistical understanding and ability to derive insights from data

Professional Skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and parallel projects
